If you’re seeking the beat of a live music event or the delight of a new attraction like the V&A, answering the call of the great outdoors or on the look-out for new food experiences, Fife has it all covered this month with a range of activities that can be enjoyed by the whole family.

Cambo House Snowdrops

1st February -10th March – You can visit the Scottish Snowdrop Festival at Cambo House & Estate, Kingsbarns. Thousands of snowdrops carpet the woodlands where you can enjoy a walk at your own leisure or join one of the guided tours. There are also plenty of activities for children to get involved in as well as piglets to feed. To mark the birth of Spring and the start of the snowdrop festival Cambo House also host a family and doggy-friendly party on 1st February with crafts, music and a campfire between 4pm and 7pm. 1st – 24th February –A visit to the V&A Dundees’ opening exhibition – Ocean Liners: Speed & Style is only possible until 24th February. Enjoyed by thousands of visitors since it opened last year, it was the first in a series of changing exhibitions put on by the museum showcasing the best of international design. From Brunel’s 1859 steamship, the Great Eastern, to the launch of the QE2 in 1969, Ocean Liners is the first exhibition to fully explore the design and cultural impact of ocean liners on an international scale, focussing on their promotion, engineering, interior design, as well as the lifestyle on board. The V&A Dundee is open daily between 10am and 5pm and entrance is free.

2nd February – St Andrews Farmers Market is organised by the Fife Farmers’ Market Cooperative and takes place the first Saturday of every month. There are around thirty stall-holders selling a range of fresh produce, preserves, crafts and drinks and sometimes a pop-up restaurant. Entry is free and the market can be found at the North Car Park on Argyle Street.

14th February – We have our own Valentines’ celebrations taking place at Rufflets. Surprise your loved one with a Rosé Prosecco Afternoon Tea in our cosy library or drawing room, priced at £30 per person or an intimate dinner at our 2 AA Rosette restaurant – Seasons. Alternatively book a romantic overnight stay with our special Valentine accommodation offer.

16th February – Rogue Village are hosting a special indoor event at Bowhouse close to Saint Monans. The Canteen Street Food Festival will welcome some of the UK’s best street food traders and mixologists with a party atmosphere featuring resident DJs along with performances and activities to keep the kids entertained throughout between 12 noon and 3pm. Under twos are free, children £4 and adults £5. Later the same evening, Rogue Village will throw another party at Bowhouse, with a line-up of DJs and live music alongside their incredible Canteen Street Food Festival. Canteen: Late and Live (over 18 only) starts at 7pm and finishes at midnight. Guests can feast on a line-up of street food while listening to some fantastic live music and dancing their socks off. Tickets are priced at £13.50 plus booking fee. A return bus service is available between St Andrews and Bowhouse with Fill My Bus for £12-15 return.
